This would make a nice autumn or Thanksgiving
card by switching the leaves to brown and the berries
to a lovely shade of orange ^_^

So simple with loads of white space...love it!
I have a die set of numbers and could quickly get
the "U" by die cutting a zero and snipping off the top!

The white word on black makes for a stunning card!
The patterned piece of paper reminds me of
adult coloring books!

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Pixie Paints
and the Very Best of
Pinterest Pins

I received a bottle of Pixie Paint recently from a Paper Source store and decided to bust it out and give it a try to make some background papers! Here are the creations that resulted:

I did a search on Pinterest for some pins based on a "Pixie Paint Cards" search and here's what loveliness came up:

What I love about these shimmery powder paints is that you don't need to be a watercolor artist to create some really cool backgrounds. Thank you, Mel, for introducing me to this awesome way to paint!

Finally...check out this watercolor video tutorial on YouTube that will definitely make you want to pick up a paintbrush and try these techniques out with a cheap watercolor set and some watercolor paper from Michael's:

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
My Latest Projects
and the Very Best of Pinterest Pins

I needed a WOW! card for the birthday of my son's
GF and decided to do a card in a box:

This is large version that I created using the
following measurements:

DSP Double-Sided:
10 1/2" x 11"

Along the 10 1/2" side score at:
2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10"

Along the 11" side score at:
5 1/2"

I then trimmed 2" off  three flaps and left the back flap closest to the tab full size to get a nice height for the back flap and a smaller size for the side flaps as shown in my picture above.

For more examples of these types of cards,
Pinterest has a board of them HERE.

I'm so happy to be going to a wedding and shower
for someone who is a landscape architect and
these are the cards I created for her:

Such a sweet little card that could be
modified for any occasion!

SAB Stampin' Up and the
Very Best of Pinterest Pins

I finally had time to make up some thank you cards using my new Avant-Garden set from SU:

There were many pins to use for inspiration and these were the first cards I made with this set:

Inside View of Left Panel

When I was all done with the card above, I flipped it over to add my HOMMARK sticker on the back and the card touched the green ink pad by the green arrow - ARG!...so I had to turn this accident into a chance to use some creativity to cover it! An extra leaf would have thrown off the balance, but you can see what I ended up doing below. I was VERY happy how it all turned out!

The cut out flower gave the card an added embellishment!

...and one last card made:

Now here are the pins for this set:

One thing I often do with stamp sets that require extensive coloring is scan my finished panel into the computer so I can print out card fronts/inside panels whenever I need them in a jiffy! This is what I did for the outside and inside flower panels for the card above. Even close up, you can't tell that they were scanned and oh!...the time it saves!

My coworker, Donna, is planning a Leprechaun Hunt for her young granddaughters this month. She bought gold chocolate coins to make a pathway to the shoe box traps that the little ones will decorate ahead of time. Donna will then make it look like the leprechauns have done some mischievous things in her house when they all go on the hunt: tilted lamp shades, St. Patty's socks on the floor, etc. Oh! What fun these kids will have! I gave Donna some ideas for the hunt from the days when Kevin's wonderful kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Brown, did a hunt for her students every year! Such happy memories :-) Check out these clever St. Patty's Day Leprechaun Hunt ideas HERE and crafts HERE.

I follow the Papertrey Inc. blog and discovered the release of this complete set of dies, stamps, printed sheets, stencils and a brass gate lock called GARDEN GATE and a video showing off the kit possibilities HERE:

You know how you see a card and then you immediately say to yourself: I MUST have this set?! That's what happened to me! Plus, my dear friend, Alice, was having a birthday and she loves all things flowers...so all the more reason I had to have it!

It took a bit of practice to line up the stamps with each die cut, but here is my first card using this wonderful set:

Here's a thank you card I made:

There are loads of project ideas on the GARDEN GATE Make It Market Kit release page HERE. I can't wait to make more cards and tags with this kit (so I can justify my purchase)! For more pins related to this kit, click HERE.
