PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Candy Favors and the
Very Best of Pinterest Pins

I saw a terrific card box on Pinterest:

Includes how-to and measurements on site * big Ideas From A Little Girl: Simple holder for 3X3 cards
Original Pin HERE

...and I thought it would make a nice candy favor...so I modified it and made these mini boxes that hold one Ghirardelli chocolate square and some M&Ms:

Candy Favor Measurements

Base:
3" x 7.5" scored at 3 1/4" and 4 1/4"

Inside Box:
3" x 4" scored 1" from all four sides

...then my talented neighbor and paper crafter, Ava, came over to  make some projects with me:

She has innate creativity that never ceases to amaze me! She took the idea of these candy favors and then designed her own candy favors as a thank you for me and a friend of mine who gave her some craft supplies! Thank you, Ava, for making me smile from ear-to-ear!

...and here's one of my most favorite cards to make for birthdays:

SENTIMENT:
Oval All by SU

DIE:
Kensington Border by Memory Box

EMBOSSING FOLDER:
Butterfly Swirls

Darice 1216-64 Embossing Folder, 4.25 by 5.75-Inch, Butterfly Swirls
Purchase HERE

I bought this folder after my friend, Mel, showed me a most beautiful card she made with this folder. It works particularly well with shimmery card stock. I LOVE this folder and use it often in combination with all sorts of butterfly dies.

MY FAVORITE CRAFTER

I have a neighbor, Ava, who loves making crafts as much as I do, and we get together from time-to-time to have some fun with some of my paper crafting toys. It's truly amazing how quickly she learns new things, pays attention to the details and can look at a sample then make it her own! Today, she came over for some craft time and was happy to find that one of my buddies, Mel, had dropped off some things just for her =)

In just a little time, Ava had made a bunch of projects and was eager to drop off some bunny car racers that she made for her two friends across the street.

Twinkies, peeps, Jelly Bellies and marshmallows are always a treat for kids of any age - including my twenty-something sons!

Ava makes my heart happy to see how much she enjoys the creative process and how much she enjoys seeing the final product --- now that's the sign of a true crafter! Today I learned about rubber band loom bracelets and baskets from Ava. Remember those pot holders we made back in the 60's? The look of the items made with this rubber band loom reminds me of those pot holders! I wish I had taken a close-up pic of Ava's beautiful rainbow bracelet she made and was wearing today. It looked a bit like one I found on Google:

I'm so lucky to have someone right next door who shares my love of crafting and who helps me use up some of my supplies so I can justify buying the next new paper crafting toy I see! Thanks, Ava (...and thanks to your mom for letting me post these pics of you on my site)!

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS

Here are my top favorite
PINTEREST pins...and this week,
all of the pins are from one site!

The oh! so creative LeeAnn Greff has tons of
FREE paper craft templates on her blog:

To view the original source and instructions,
click HERE...and here's my version
that I made last week with a VERY talented
paper crafter named Ava.
Ava is my seven-year-old neighbor who
is now the proud owner of a new Cuttlebug!

To make the box a bit more stable,
I increased the measurements and scored a
6 1/2" x 9 1/4" piece of card stock
at 1 1/4" instead of 1", then followed the

LeeAnn also has these additional
AWESOME projects with instructions
on her template page:

Can't wait to try them all!
THANK YOU BUNCHES, LEEANN!

NEW TOYS!

I made some cards with my sister and mom recently. My sister, Janie, just bought over SU's Papillon Potpourri set, the 2 coordinating punches for that set and Giggle Greetings so we could play. (See the SU June 2013-May 2014 catalog, page 90, 183 and 29.) We made the card below with the Giggle Greetings cat...

...and the silver bow was the finishing touch that really made this card a WOW card! Brilliant idea, Janie!...and then we made some butterfly cards...LOVE those butterflies! The adhesive gems for the body parts make this card pop!

I bought my embossing folder for the cards below from UCUTATHOME that my friend, Mel, brought to our last Card Divas meeting. I just had to have it!...and this is my first card below with that folder using the extra butterflies I stamped and punched out with my sister's new SU toys:

I sent this card to my pen pal, LA, to thank her for the surprise she sent to me in the mail! You can see Mel's original card that she had us make HERE. Then I showed that card to my coworker and as soon as she saw it....she had to order that embossing folder, too! The folder is made by Darice and it's called BUTTERFLIES IN CORNER. (See ucutathome link above or order from ebay.) It sure makes for a quick but elegant card! Thanks, Mel!...and here is another set of cards made with this folder. I made these cards with my oh! so talented neighbor Ava who is only 7 years old! Her cards turned out so well that I had to check on the back of the cards for my handmade label to make sure I got my cards and she got hers!
