PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Star Wars Cards and the
Very Best of Pinterst Pins

My son had his 30th birthday recently and I wanted to make a special card for him. I saw this card on Pinterst and decided my Star Wars fan would love one like it!

I thought a Yoda sentiment would be perfect for this card:

I made one more card and rounded the edges at the top:

Here are my favorite Star Wars pins from last week:

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Birthday Bling and the
Very Best of Pinterest Pins

simple Karte:

When I saw this card, it made me instantly happy! I tried a version with lines drawn using a Micro pen, but the lines turned out poorly and I nearly gave up on trying a version of this card. Last week, this card came up again...and I knew I had to give it one more try! This time, I used my computer to make the lines and at last...I was happy with this version:

...and version #2:

Here are a few more pins with bling that make me happy!

The gilding flakes won this round - there wasn't really enough coverage on this gorgeous Penny Black tree. I added three Stickles and two Liquid Pearls as well as some gems to it, so you can hardly tell! I added a couple of white layers as I wanted to keep the design very clean but the card needed a little something extra and I think the white layers worked well.:

I have loads of trees stamps...I must experiment with gray ink plus a red border on white!

Supply List: Cardstock: Shimmer White, Baja Breeze Stamps:  Jolly Jingles jumbo roller #120864 Embellishments:  Snowburst Embossing folder, Ornament Punch, Basic Pearls, White 5/8" satin ribbon, Rhinestone brad, white embossing powder, heat gun, Versamark ink.

This is not SU Serene Silhouettes but thought it might would work. (This one was a PTI).:

Lastly, here's a pin I saw for a lovely Thanksgiving card:

Now this is my kind of fall card!

...and my version using SU's Branch Out set:

The added banner was the result of a happy little mistake/opportunity. The font I originally used on the base layer was too bold, so I just printed up a second more delicate version, cut it into a banner and covered the original sentiment with the new improved sentiment. I think it enhanced the card with the raised banner. I love it when near lemons turn into lemonade during the card making process!

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Chocolate Rules and the
Very Best of Pinterest Pins

I saw an idea on Pinterest that caught my eye for obvious reasons - haha!

When I started reading the rules, I had some LOL moments and knew I had to try a version of this idea for my college roommate, Linda:

I had a beautiful piece of 3D floral paper saved in my paper collection for years, and using my computer, I made this version:

Linda loved it and I love how it can be modified for all sorts of gift giving occasions! Here are a few more versions:

....and this photo shows one with a smaller chocolate bar from Trader Joe's. I photographed it with the larger Hershey bar version to show the comparison. I like the larger size version best.
