PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Thank Yous and the
Very Best of Pinterest Pins

I've needed quite a few thank you notes lately for some very thoughtful people that I'm thankful to have in my life. This card pinned on Pinterest struck my fancy plus I had a scrap of watercolor paper that I wanted to use:

Original Pin HERE

I don't have this exact set from SU, but I have a similar retired SU set called Asian Artisty and that led me to create this card:

This card is for my friend Rina who gifted me with a happy birthday die. I used the "happy" from her set of gift dies for Rina's thank you note. After the card was completed, the card seemed off-balance with too much white space above the oval. After trying a few possible fixes, I decided that the placement of two butterflies resulted in the best solution ^_^ (Butterflies from SU Embosslits Beautiful Wings, Oval from SU Stitched Shape Framelets)

Additional thank you notes finished and ready for mailing:

This card needed something to make it pop and
some Stickles came to the rescue:

This pin from my previous blog post got me thinking about cutting words out on my cards:

The following note cards were made on my Cricut using the SU stamp set called Avant-Garden for the flowers and SU Fabulous Phrases for the white embossing words on the black card stock:

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Asian Cards and the
Very Best of Pinterest Pins

My friend Alice wanted to borrow a retired SU stamp set from me called Asian Artistry to make this card:

Alice make cards to sell at the Sunnyvale Senior Center's gift shop and made some just like this to sell. Now, they've sold out and she wants to make some more to keep up with the demand!

I also needed to make a thank you card for her, so I used this same set to make this card:

It gave me some inspiration to create a
few birthday cards this month:

I got the little Woodstock online as a piece of clip art that I printed and cut out. You can print my version HERE. After I cut out Woodstock, I cut the legs from the body and pasted them in a sitting down position.

Here's a lovely way to send out a thank you
or a December birthday card:

These little treat boxes were based on a previous post HERE:

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year
and I'll be taking time off from blogging to enjoy it.
Happiest of holidays with abundant joy
and creativity in 2017!...
and I like to end each year with this poem
that my friend, Michele, sent to me
many Christmases ago:

Twas the night before Christmas, I’m glued to the tree.
I’m wondering what Santa will bring just for me.
Could it be new cardstock or inkpads or lace?
"Or stamp sets," I said, with a big smile on my face.
And that’s when I saw him..."Hi Santa," I said.
To which he replied, "You should be in bed!"
"Oh, dear!" I said, "I’ve just been caught...
But I was hoping to see what goodies you brought."
He took a brief look at my room where I work.
Then he shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.
...And I heard him exclaim, as he put it in gear,
You’ve got enough crap, I’ll see you next year!

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
My Favorite Christmas Cards

Awhile back, I accidently posted two entries on one day for Pin It Friday Favs, so I retracted the one at the end of this post and added some more content to it so I could post everything today. Enjoy!

This card sang to me me when I spotted it on Pinterest and I knew I had to attempt one with the stamps I had on hand:

SU Festival of Trees

Here's my version:

I do love the SU Festival of Trees version in the pinned version and I think I must put it on my Wish List!...and here's another version on this theme that I saw on Pinterest:

I've found many wonderful Christmas cards to make on Pinterest, but this one was stunning and I knew I had to make my version of it:

VERY pretty!

I didn't have the exact punches, but I had very similar items that would allow me create something similar:

While I had everything out, I had to make another one with a few modifications after I found this pin for making a cardinal out of the SU bird punch:

Alex's Creative Corner: Cardinal Punch Art
Click HERE for the Original Pin

...so I made the card again with a cardinal and a different background embossing folder...and I think I like this one best:

I found an image online using Google images for the Deck the Halls sheet music and used that for the music notes paper. Then I cut it into a circle using my Small Classic Circles Nesties on top of the Small Classic Scalloped Circle die. I have enough supplies for four more cards, but it takes a lot of work just to make one of these cards...so I may be stopping here with two cards made! My mom would love this card because she was a piano teacher and we lived in North Carolina with the cardinal as the official state bird...plus, she always loves my cards and would save this one forever!

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Basket Full of Sunshine

I saw a terrific BASKET FULL OF SUNSHINE idea on Pinterest for gifts to give friends and relatives going through an illness, cancer or other hardships. This idea would also make a one-of-a-kind birthday gift as well. I found several examples of yellow items to include in the basket and even a site that offers FREE printable tags to attach to the basket or box - YES!

Free printable - Send a Box of Sunshine to brighten someones day! The printables say you are my sunshine, and other fun sayings.

I found the perfect basket at Michael's and went to Target where I found loads of yellow items to put into my basket for a dear friend and added one of the printable tags:

My yellow items included a Subway gift card, a water bottle, hand lotion, cookies, pancake mix, wine, coffee cup, honey, mustard, kitchen towels, tea bags and some handmade cards incorporating the yellow color theme (shown below). My friend called when she got the basket and said it made her sooooo very happy....and I'm so happy to find this wonderful idea on Pinterest!
