Walk Down Memory Lane

My coworker brought in a huge box of handmade cards to show me. To my surprise, it contained every card I had ever given her over the last 10+ years! I went through the whole box and found a few of my all-time favorites to photograph and remember:

...and here are two cards that I made recently from
some clever Pinterest punch art cards:

They have the best clear stamps on the market IMHO!

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Baby Cards Galore!

I needed to send out baby cards this week and found loads of inspiration on Pinterest! Here are the ones that caught my eye:

So creative!

I really liked this one above for a baby boy card and searched for the template, but the creator said she just cut and cut and pretty soon she landed with this idea! Wow! That is talent!...so I set out to create a template of my own...a little while later...this is what I had using a 5"x 6" piece of paper:

I made up my card and realized it needed a bit more pizzazz, so I added a shirt, some buttons, rounded some corners and ended up with this card:

(The giraffe was purchased as a single
stamp years and years ago! Perhaps Hero Arts?)

For a baby girl card, I made this one using my circle thinlet from Stampin' Up:

I cased the sweet little lamb from my talented friend, Rina, who made them for her daughter's baby shower favors --- each little lamb was attached to a bottle of nail polish - the perfect gift for each guest! For my last baby girl card below, I used the lamb again for the inside. This card is going to my wonderful friend, Linda, who just became a grandma to Anabelle:

The lamb head is a 3/4" punch. the ears are a 1/2" punch cut in half and the legs are made from the SU Word Window punch cut in half. The eyes are mini adhesive gems.

While I was searching for baby card ideas on Pinterest, I found tons of clever ideas for gifts and baby shower centerpieces:

...finally...what a fantastic idea for baby and wedding showers:

Brilliant!!! Oh my heavens why did we not think of this before I got married?! It would have made things so much easier, and I probably would have mailed out the thank you's in time too!

I just made up a version of this quilt card:

DIE CUTS: Spellbinders Captivating Squares
My friend Katie used these dies on a
card that I saw...then I HAD to buy them!
Here's Katie's lovely card:

All quilt cards remind me of the treasured quilts my Grandma Lucy made me throughout my childhood that were filled with loads of love! To make the quilt cards above, cut 1" squares for each color as follows: 4 of solid colored card stock, 4 of medium-weight patterned DSP and 8 of vanilla card stock. Cut all but 4 of the vanilla squares on the diagonal. (The 4 uncut squares go in the corners.) I used a glue stick and a piece of computer paper and attached each quilt piece starting with the center pattern. It helped to start out with a 4 x 4" piece of computer paper scored every inch in all directions. After all pieces were attached, I let everything dry, trimmed all four sides and ran this final piece through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder.

PIN IT FRIDAY FAVS:
Baby Card and More

My college roommate Linda was in town and she needed a baby card for her daughter's shower. We checked on Pinterest and picked this card to case:

cute

...and here's the card she made:

I also wanted to send some blank note cards for a family friend who just moved to an assisted living apartment. She says that it's hard to ask others to get note cards and stamps for them...so now I have a wonderful excuse for making up a set of cards with stamped envelopes every couple of weeks for this dear friend who was like a second mother to me growing up! I saw this card on Pinterest:

thank you card - use SU thinlet "hi" or "thx" for this idea!

I kept it simple and modified this card to quickly create these cards with my SU thinlet die:
