I finally had time to make my first card using Stampin' Up's Blossom Petals punch! Someone showed online how they took an embossing stylist and made vertical straight lines through the petals to give the flower texture and curled them slightly so it looked more like a real flower. (Love that Pinerest!) While I had everything out, I made 3 so this one is going to my son's girlfriend and my sister. I'll have to see if I can part with the third one! (The embossing folder is called Framed Tulips - also from SU - and I use it a lot.)...and here's a helpful hint: Use a square punch in the corner only to create the edges for a small banner as seen on the "Happy Birthday" raised banner for this card.)
Here are two side step Easter cards that I made yesterday:
...and I found this sentiment/saying for Easter cards online and modified it slightly to include just some of these thoughts. It gave me a good chuckle...so here goes...
LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE EASTER BUNNY:
Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
Walk softly and carry a big carrot.
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
There’s no such thing as too much candy.
All work and no play can make you a basket case.
A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention.
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
Some body parts should be floppy.
Keep your paws off other people’s jellybeans.
Good things come in small sugar-coated packages.
The grass is always greener in someone else’s basket.
An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.
To show your true colors – you have to come out of your shell.
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.
Another card using SU's Pocket Silhouettes set. Love this set! Also uses SU's frame and Beautiful Wings embosslits and the words are from Well Scripted set.
These were the four projects we made last night at our card party - oh, what fun we had! The tutorial for making the double pocket cards is provided as the 2nd video tutorial shown here...and finally....This literally was the icing on the cake from the whole evening:
Love this vellum dress card made with SU's oval scallop punch and their Round Tab punch. My mom recycled this card and gave it back to me for my birthday. It's one of my all-time favs!
I made these two thank you cards today for two friends who made me very happy! It uses SU's Pocket Silhouettes stamp set (for the flowers) that I've had for years (since 2008) and that set is still in their current catalog on page 109. It's so versatile...I can see why it's withstood the test of time! The thank you circular stamp is from SU's Hodgepodge Happiness set, and the paper is from K&Co. Susan Wright Specialty Paper double-sided paper stack from Michael's --- on sale this week for only $8.99! I used a mask made out of 2 Post-It notes side-by-side to create the straight line to then sponge on the lavendar and green colors. SU's Double Scallop Ribbon Border punch was then used to accent the DSP.
This card uses the SU Adorning Accents embossing folder for the raised hearts near the bottom of the card, the scallop punch, their Embosslits Beautiful Wings for the butterflies, and the saying is from the SU Perfect Words stamp set.
I can' stop making these pocket cards! Made from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper, check out the video tutorial for this card and a cute purse at: http://tinyurl.com/pocketcards SU sentiment is from the set called Well Scripted.
Make a quick background using the brush tip of several complimentary copic markers then stamp an image in black on top. Stamp sets: Asian Artistry and Sincere Salutations. Punches: SU large oval and small mini triple flowers.
This card uses the new SU Adorning Accents embossing folder, their butterflies embosslit, and the bunny was made on my Cricut using their Easter cartridge. The paper is from a K&Co. stack called Susan Winget Specialty Paper.
This card uses SU's Perfect Words for the sentiment, the scallop punch, the butterfly embosslit, the Adorning Accents embossing folder and the floral paper is from the Garden Party Stack by DCWV from Michael's (using a coupon!).
Made with SU embossing folder called Framed Tulips and the sentiment is SU Perfect Words.

Made with some of the rub ons that Mel gave me yesterday. She cleaned out her stamping room and gave a batch of embellishments to me for our card group! The envelope is made with 4 - 3 1/2" circles and holds a 3 3/8" square card. I gave this card to Janie today and I'll make another one for Mel ;-)
I've decided to use this site to archive all of the cards I've made in one spot....and if you want to make this Angry Birds card for your kids, check out the link here:
